CACTX orchestrates Texas’ response to crimes against children and leads the way in preventing child sexual abuse in Texas by educating Texas communities and stewarding a statewide safety net of children’s advocacy centers charged with guiding impacted children and families toward safety, justice, and healing.
How we protect childhood
Protecting childhood takes both urgency and vision. CACTX responds when crimes occurs, and works relentlessly to stop abuse before it starts. Together, these efforts give every child in Texas the chance to grow up safe, whole, and free to be a kid again.

When crime occurs, CACTX makes sure kids aren’t left to carry it alone. Coordinated care alongside case management and victim support help children and families families find justice and begin the path to healing.
Prevention that lasts
Child sexual abuse isn’t inevitable. It’s preventable. CACTX equips Texans with the tools to recognize, report, and act, changing the odds so the next generation can grow up free from crime.
A statewide safety net
When crime impacts a child, expert local support is needed. That's why CACTX stewards a statewide network of children's advocacy centers (CACs) to assist our most vulnerable Texans and is actively working toward solutions to prevent child sexual abuse.
97.6% of all Texans live in a county that is officially served by a local CAC.
349,470 Texas Abuse Hotline reports received & reviewed by CACs
62,785 children received critical services at a Texas CAC.
64% of abuse cases seen at a local CAC were sexual abuse.
