Reflecting on the CACTX Impact Summit

As we embark on a new year, let’s acknowledge the progress achieved and embrace the recent and continuing initiatives that will shape the path for the year ahead. The CACTX Impact Summit, held on November 9th and 10th, 2023, stands as a testament to the collective dedication and profound impact made by our partners across Texas in safeguarding the well-being of our children. Hosted over two days, this gathering celebrated the collaborative efforts that have significantly shaped the landscape of child protection in our state.
Day One: Building Public Will and Preventing Child Sexual Abuse
A highlight of the Summit was the keynote address delivered by Kevin Kirkpatrick, Senior Executive Vice President/Principal from the Metropolitan Group, whose insights shed light on the transformative potential of public will building. A former VP of Marketing and Communications for Prevent Child Abuse America, Kevin framed how public will building as a communication strategy and engaging people based on their closely held personal values can help us move the needle on preventing child sexual abuse.
Day Two: Blueprint to Reach Every Child
The second day of the Summit was marked by an interactive session that introduced the visionary concept of the “Blueprint to Reach Every Child” and solicited input and feedback from the leaders of our network of children’s advocacy centers (CACs). This statewide initiative is our comprehensive plan to ensure all children impacted by abuse and violence across Texas have access to the expert response and healing services provided by CACs and their multidisciplinary teams.
The Blueprint aims to bridge gaps and standardize specialized services, guaranteeing that every child in need has the support they deserve regardless of location or circumstance. It envisions a future where CACs are seamlessly integrated into communities, offering a consistent and expert response to every child in need.
